Alberto developed the main theory and tools of pretotyping during his second stint at Google (2008-2012) where he served both as Engineering Director and Innovation Agitator. During his first stint at Google (2001-2002), Alberto managed the Ads group and led the launch of Google's AdWords.

Besides Google, Alberto was Director of Software Technology Research at Sun Microsystems Laboratories, and co-founder and CTO of two venture-backed start-ups (Velogic Inc., acquired by Keynote Systems and Agitar Software, acquired by McCabe.) 

Alberto’s innovative work and thought leadership in software technology innovation has been recognized with numerous awards, including:
  • The Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Award (2005)
  • InfoWorld Top 25 CTOs Award (2005)
  • InfoWorld Technology of the Year Award (2005, 2006)
  • Software Development’s Jolt Award (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008)
